So your child is interested in being baptized - YAY! We can’t wait to help you navigate this next step in your child’s walk with Jesus. Here are a few things we want to be sure of before moving forward:
Your child has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. This could mean they prayed a prayer to ask Jesus into their heart and forgive them of their sins. They claim they believe he died on the cross for their sins and they want to be saved from their sin.
Your child is over the age of 6. We simply believe this is a good benchmark for an “age of accountability.” Your child is at an age where they definitely understand right from wrong and that there are consequences for their decisions.
You believe your child is mature enough to make this next step in their walk with Jesus.
At lighthouse we believe their is no “junior holy spirit.” you do not have to be an adult to be baptized. Being baptized is simply the next step after being saved.
Before being publicly baptized, children will participate in a baptism class where they will learn the significance and importance of baptism. We will also go over “what to expect” on the day of their baptism. Parents are encouraged to participate in this class.
Classes are held on an interest basis - please contact Alexis Amarante if your child is interested in being baptized today!
